ABOUT KELSEY

Kelsey Kirchner

The "Kelsey Charity Run" is an AMA (American Motorcycle Association) sanctioned charity bike run. It takes place every year on Father's Day, Rain or shine.

Kelsey Kirchner, at age 2, was diagnosed with a rare form of central nervous system cancer called Neuroblastoma. At the time of her diagnosis, Kelsey’s prognosis was poor and her chances of survival were slim. After years of experimental treatments at Memorial Sloane-Kettering in New York City, Kelsey was finally diagnosed as cancer-free. Miraculously, Kelsey is now a very talented 18 year old High School athlete, headed onto College and continues to be in remission.

Kelsey still makes regular visits to Memorial Sloan-Kettering in NYC for check ups and treatments. As Kelsey and her family’s needs lessened, the KCR reached out to other families in the area fighting Cancer and other life threatening diseases. In addition to helping local families, the KCR has been a regular supporter of the Kelsey Fund, Somerset County Food Bank and the Santa Toy Run.

Richard Voorhees

The Kelsey Fund was originally organized by the Lincoln Hose Company No. 4, of the Somerville Fire Department in May 1995. Retired Bridgewater Police Chief Richard Voorhees and friends formed "The Kelsey Charity Run, Inc." as the fundraiser for the Kelsey Fund.

We are an all volunteer organization with 100% of the event’s net proceeds benefiting area children and families fighting cancer and other life threatening conditions. Our goal is to raise more than $100,000.00 at this year’s event.

Over the years, the ride has averaged generous donations of over $90,000 per year. The past 14 KCR events have grossed more than $1,000,000.00 with 100% of the net proceeds helping kids and families in our area fight Cancer and other life threatening diseases. The direct cost for conducting this annual motorcycle rally and picnic exceeds $35,000. A donation made by you and /or your organization will be used to offset these expenses and allow us to continue to make generous contributions to numerous local charities and families.

The Kelsey Fund is governed by a Board of Trustees and their by-laws do not allow for direct fundraising. The Kelsey Charity Run, Inc., a 501-C3 charity was established as the primary fundraising organization for the Kelsey Fund.
